A Thrive Community will begin in-person meetings again sometime in early Spring. Check back here to find out the dates for getting back to In person meetings. At that time we will be practicing all recommended Covid-19 protocols for our gatherings. We will start with Match Team nights in-person and education nights will still be via Zoom meetings. We are preparing meals for all activities. On education nights the meals can be picked up at East Heights as we have been doing since May. On Match Team nights we will eat at East Heights and separate out into teams to reconnect and work on goals and dreams. We are excited to be able to get together face-to-face [ or mask to mask ] and hope we can begin moving forward together.
The Community Foundation, in partnership with the Salvation Army, currently has a fund to pay utility bills for people who have been affected by COVID-19. The program is called "Stand with Wichita", but has not gotten a lot of publicity.
Anyone who needs help with utility bills due to COVID-19 circumstances can be approved over the phone by calling the Salvation Army at 263-2769 and asking for "Stand with Wichita".
We want to thank everyone who participated in our Thrive Community Gala on March 7th. It was a wonderful evening of great food and generous supporters who understand the importance of our mission and opened their hearts and wallets to help keep A Thrive Community healthy and growing. Thanks to Jeff Herndon who kept the evening fun and moving along. Thanks to Megan McCurdy for conducting our live auction and creating a positive, energetic experience. We are blessed to be able to serve our team leaders and walk beside them in their journey forward. The success of our gala gives us the resources to continue these journeys together.
